Join VSI's 'Youth for Climate Justice' Project 2024! It will bring together a small group of young people to learn about climate justice and how we can help achieve it. We will take a look at the climate crisis from a human-centered perspective, focusing on the inequalities caused by climate change and empowering young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to advocate for climate justice.
Project overview
Starting with an in-person workshop on Saturday 21st September and continuing online for 5 evening workshops, from 23rd – 25th September and 30th September - 1st October, with a final in-person day on Saturday 5th October, participants will attend interactive and informal workshops on climate justice. Participants will use this learning and work in groups to create a mini-social media campaign or poster on climate justice which will be shared by VSI.
Workshops will include a guest speaker and professional training in campaign and social media skills, along with a session on citizen climate journalism where we will explore podcasting as a means of activism. Interested participants will also be supported by VSI to organise and facilitate their own climate justice workshop. Professional online facilitation training will be provided to these participants to help them deliver their workshop.
We'll look at the climate crisis from a human-centered perspective, focusing on the inequalities created by climate change, nationally and globally, and recognising climate action as one part of broader action towards reducing inequalities and poverty, and creating a better future for all. We're looking for participants who care about climate justice and want to learn more!
