Description

The Community Sponsorship Group sponsors the arrival of resettled refugees from low-income countries to Europe in a legal and safe way. The group comes together, fundraises and supports the refugees in their arrival to foster integration. Our project focuses on resettlement through education.

Our aim is to redistribute the world's refugee population in a more equitable way, and create sustainable solutions for refugees, who can seize opportunities to become self-reliant and independent.

We coordinate with the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in Ireland, Nasc, the Migrant and Refugee Rights Centre, and the University of Galway.

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

* Help fundraise

*Attend meetings whether online or in person

Skills required for this role:

Strong interpersonal skills

Strong organisational skills

Flexibility

Any previous experience in fundraising is helpful

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Depends, but 1 hour per week at most

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
