Requirements:18+ years of age
Looking for a committed volunteer to support young people in an LGBTI+ youth club in the Big Picture, Tallaght on Monday evenings from 7.45pm-9.30pm. Volunteer will be expected to be open-minded and non-judgemental towards young people and support their needs.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Volunteers must undergo garda vetting and take part in Starting Out volunteer training and Child protection provided by Foróige, free of charge. Volunteers are expected to support young people in choosing and running activities weekly in the youth club.
Skills required for this role:
Volunteers should be approachable and open-minded for young people. Volunteers should strive to build positive supportive connections with young people whom this is extremely important for. Clubs should be a sociable place for young people to make friends and have fun and volunteers should support this.
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Monday evening 7.45pm-9.15pm
Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
2 references are required for this role, Foróige have a specific reference form to be filled out and will be sent to volunteers referees upon application.
