Requirements:Looking for visual arts enthusiasts, art students or aspiring cultural producers. The minimum age is 18
As part of our volunteer programme, we offer a unique internship opportunity which we have been running since 2018.
The programme gives participants the chance to network with many of Ireland’s arts and cultural workers and provide both physical and digital completion certificates. They receive all the perks available to GIAF volunteers
Through the programme, Galway International Arts Festival hopes to give budding arts administrators a rewarding experience that will allow them to make valuable contributions to the Irish cultural sector of the future.
Is training provided?: Yes
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
VAIP participants will be the core invigilators in the main festival gallery
Training including artists' talks, seminars with arts practitioners and festival staff are offered.
Skills required for this role:
Interest in visual art. People's skills
Details of time commitment needed for role:
2 full weeks of the Festival and 2/3 days for training (10 to 28 July)
Minimum time commitment per week:
10+ hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
The Volunteer Department will send the link to the VAIP application form and candidates will be called for a short informal interview
