Requirements:Fluency in English: native proficiency is not required, but fluency is essential (C1/C2 Level)
The TalkSpace Club is a Serve The City Limerick initiative designed to bring together fluent English-speaking volunteers and non-English speakers in a relaxed, conversational setting. Our goal is to break down language barriers, celebrate cultural diversity, and build meaningful connections through conversation.
What is expected from a volunteer?
Volunteers at TalkSpace Club first need to engage in friendly, informal conversations with non-fluent English speakers to help them practice in real-life situations, rather than teaching English. They create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging cultural exchange through shared stories and experiences. The focus is on building friendships and fostering connections across diverse backgrounds.
We recruit volunteers monthly, so your enrolment is only for the upcoming project. Please don't sign up if you're not sure that you will be able to attend: the availability of spots for attendees is linked to the number of volunteers. If there are any volunteer absences, it may affect the overall experience of the meeting.
