Calling all Tech fans, new Tech Youth Club in Galway!

Are you passionate about technology and eager to make a difference in young lives? Foróige are excited to announce the launch of a brand-new Tech Youth Club and we’re calling on dedicated volunteers to help bring this project to life! 

'Circuit Breakers' is an initiative designed to empower young girls with the essential skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the digital age. Through hands-on activities, mentorship, and workshops, young people aged 13-18 can explore coding, robotics, graphic design and  more!  This club will provide a safe and inclusive space for youth to explore their curiosity, develop critical problem-solving skills, and spark their creativity in a fun and engaging environment.

We Need YOU!

To ensure the success of this exciting new program, we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers!  No prior tech experience in tech is required, Foróige provides training and support! All you need is a curiosity about how the world works and willingness to give it a go!  

All volunteers will be Garda vetted by Foróige and complete mandatory Child Protection on  and Starting Out Training 

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Plan activiites with other youthclub leaders. 

Attend two club sessions per month supporting young people in STEM activities.

Skills required for this role:

Willingness to learn

Interest in technology and digital programmes

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Tuesday, 6pm to 7.30pm in Galway City Library during the school term.

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
