Requirements:A creative person who likes to do arts and crafts and participate in a community event
Trócaire will be walking in the St. Patrick's Day parade on 17th March in Galway and we are searching for volunteers to join us and prepare beforehand.
Our theme for the parade is climate change but in particular divesting from fossil fuels, we will have
loads of different colourful signs with different phrases on them showing the impacts of climate
change.
We will have a megaphone to make some noise. As a volunteer you will be chanting together and holding signs.
For those interested in arts and crafts, human rights and/or getting involved with the community, this may be the perfect opportunity for you!

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
All volunteers have to read and sign Trócaire's safeguarding policies before starting their volunteer work.
We will also provide full supervision during tasks and training before the volunteer starts
Skills required for this role:
Be of good spirit and wanting to have fun together in the parade
Have an interest in Arts and Crafts
Want to get involved with the community
Details of time commitment needed for role:
You can choose to go to our preparation meetings if you would like to:
Thursday 6th March, 1-2.30pm, information and crafts session to prepare in Áras na MacLéinn
Tuesday 11th March, 5-7pm, crafts and preparation session in Áras na MacLéinn
Monday 17th March: 9.30am: meeting in the Trócaire office, 10.30am: meeting at the university for the parade.
We will gather for pizza after the parade and expect to be finished by 2.30pm.
Minimum time commitment per week:
3 hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
This is a short term opportunity. If the volunteer wants to be involved further after St Patrick's day, they can stay in contact with the event coordinators.
