Description

Pre-Run: The Meeters & Greeters are one of the first points of contact for our participants on race evening. They welcome people as they arrive and attempt to fix any problems before they arise to take the pressure off the Information Desk at each venue.

The responsibilities will be:

  • Help runners find their Corral (match run number colour to corral sign colour).
  • Guide runners to the start line following directions from pod Leaders, staff, and MC.
  • Assist staff or security as needed and allow emergency service access if required.

During & Post Run: After the run starts, the Meeters & Greetters will switch location to the finish line to cheer runners across the finish line and hand out medals, water, and bars to all participants after the run as some of the pre-race locations will no longer be required.

The responsibilities will be:

  • Keep exits and walkways clear and help prepare for receiving the first finisher at the finish line after the last runner crosses.
  • Manage runner flow at the finish line to prevent congestion, directing them to post-race areas.
  • Support to lead volunteers to set-up of this area with separate stations for medals, water, and nutrition.
  • Manage the flow and movement of participants through this area, ensuring they are continuing to move and exit as quickly and safely as possible.

Ensure that volunteers are handing out one medal, one water bottle, and one bar per participant so that we have enough for every runner that comes across the finish line.
