Description

Bag drop volunteers are located at the bag drop area, where runners leave their bags while taking part in the event. This is an exciting and busy role pre and post run, so putting your running shoes on!

There will be a group of you that assists before the participant gets to the Bag Drop Desk – you are the Bag Drop Que Roamers. This is an important role that helps to keep the line moving, answer questions, and assist runners in putting their Bag Tag on their Bag before they get to the desk. If we have runners who are late, you will be able to help ease their minds and take their bags for them so they can get to the start line on time!

The next Bag Drop group will be at the Bag Drop Check-In Desk. When they arrive to the Check-In desk, they should have already put their Bag Tag (which comes from the Run Number) on to their bag. You will then pass the bag on to a Bag Runner who will place the bag in its appropriate spot during the run. The bag will be retrieved Post-Run, and the Bag Tag must match the Run Number on the participant.

Another group of volunteers will be Bag Runners! You will work in pairs and be assigned to a certain section of Bag Drop area. You will be allocated a number range for which you and your teammate will be responsible for. E.g. 501-750 in section501 – 1000. When runner 672 wants to drop their bag off, they detach their bag tag from their run number, loop it through a bag handle and the bag drop volunteer hands the bag to you, the runner, and you store it in numerical order.

You will have a Pod Leader and a Run in the Dark Staff member on hand to support you and answer any queries you have.
