Description

Treaty Rollers is a new multi sport club for kids with physical disablities aged 5-16 years old, in Castletroy ETSS. The club offers different disability sports, fun games and dynamic movements for kids to get active, discover new sports and meet new friends. We are seeking volunteers to:

  • Assist with coaching and training sessions across a range of sports and adapted games
  • Contribute your skills and ideas to continuously improve club activities
  • Become part of the club committee if you wish to get involved in a committee member capacity

No prior experience working with children with disabilities or in sports coaching is necessary – all we ask for is your passion, dedication, and willingness to learn. Training and ongoing support will be provided to all volunteers to ensure you feel confident and equipped to support members in the club.

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

  • Assist with coaching and training sessions across a range of sports and adapted games
  • Assist in session planning
  • Help set up equipment for sessions
  • Help kids during sessions
  • Contribute your skills and ideas to continuously improve club activities

Skills required for this role:

  • Adaptability: Tailoring activities and strategies to meet the individual needs and abilities of each child.
  • Patience: Understanding the unique pace and learning curve of each child.
  • Communication: Using clear, inclusive, and positive language to help coach kids and ensure understanding.
  • Creativity: Developing,and adapting exercises or games that suit different physical abilities.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Tuesday evenings 6.30pm-7.30pm

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
