Description

From Monday 11th November to Friday 13th. December, the Fundraising Department is looking for volunteers to help them with their annual Light Up A Memory Christmas Campaign between the hours of 09.30 and 1.00p.m. 

This volunteer opportunity involves helping Milford with their Christmas campaign, here in the Centre which aims to reduce their environmental impact by transitioning to online Light up a Memory, whilst supporting their fundraising efforts.

What does the role involve

  • Meeting with the Public: To meet with members of the public who come to the Light Up a Memory Desk (LUAM).
  • Assisting with Sponsorship of lights: Volunteers will assist individuals in sponsoring lights on the Memorial tree.  
  • Processing Old Forms: Volunteers may need to process old paper forms that supporters bring to the LUAM desk.
  • Providing LUAM Materials: Distribute LUAM cards, Christmas cards, candles and Christmas Robin broch to supporters who visit the desk
  • Handling Phone Calls: Receiving and returning calls from individuals who wish to sponsor lights over the phone
  • Working Independently and as a Team: Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team
  • Online Payment Processing: Students should be comfortable using the internet and processing payments of behalf of donors though the Milford Care Centre’s official website
  • Fundraising Department staff will be available to answer any questions or provide support daily.  The LUAM desk will be located in the Reception of Milford House and is near the Fundraising office.

The volunteer commitment is for approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes on a set day of each week (that suits the volunteer) between November 11th and December 13th 2024.

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Meeting the public, confident on the telphone, ability to multi task.  Inputting of data on the CRM system.  

Skills required for this role:

Microsoft proficient 

Friendly, outgoing and is an ambassador for Milford's Christmas campaign

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Volunteer selects the day of the week that suits them best, the campaign is for four weeks which means four days in total. It is from 09.30 to 1.00p.m., but there can be flexibility.

Minimum time commitment per week:
3 hour p/week

We would love to hear from you, its a nice environment to volunteer in with support from Fundraising. Its a busy campaign and our supporters very much like to contribute to Light up a Memory
