The Knocklyon Foróige Club have been in operation for over 6 years and one of the strongest and most dynamic clubs in the region. The club is very member focused. The club have achieved great and diverse activities in its history: a Halloween disco in aid of Walk for Alex, as a Citizenship Project receiving a Commendation at the National Citizenship Awards. The club has had members participate in the Leadership for Life Programme. From movie nights, quizzes, science night, circus skills workshop, the club have a great foundation for years to come.
As a Foróige Youth Leader, your role will be to work with fellow adult Leaders as part of a Team, to enable the Knocklyon Foróige Club, to meet weekly, to develop and implement different activities with the young people who are members and to help Knocklyon Foróige Club to become a strong, fun, welcome space for young people in the neighbourhood.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Skills required for this role:
Commitment to young people, self starter, willing to take on practical responsibilities within the Club, creative, personable, good listener.
Any particular skills you have (eg project management, unicycling, animation, music) is welcome to add to the development of the club plans.
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Friday 7pm - 8.30pm
Minimum time commitment per week:
3 hour p/week
