Description

The STAND Changemakers Academy is all about equipping you with the confidence, skills and hands-on experience to be advocates for global justice and catalysts for positive change. Run throughout the academic year from November to March, you’ll join 20 other ambitious participants from across the globe to understand the root causes of global inequalities and find your path to bringing about change within your communities, your career and your life. As part of the programme you and a team of peers will be given a challenge which you will be required to respond to over the course of the programme.

Together, we will:

  • analyze global development and systems thinking, critically examine perspectives, and build skills in solidarity-focused collective activism, advocacy and leadership
  • take part in skills workshops in campaigns, engage in one-to-one mentoring, and connect with grassroots campaigning groups and industry professionals alike
  • put learnings into tangible actions by working on social justice challenges to create campaigns, events for positive social change
  • create and expand on a diverse, passionate and engaged community – and growing movement – of changemakers, activists and future leaders from around the world.
