Requirements:We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, reliable and friendly individuals. An interest in the arts is a plus. The minimum age is 18

Description

Volunteer roles include:

-Big Top steward

-Visual Art invigilator

-Theatre Usher

-Musical venue usher

-Comedy usher

-Street Spectacle steward

-First Thought Talk Assistant

-Behind the Scenes ad hoc roles

-Festival Ambassador

-Green Ambassador

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Some of the tasks include:

  • Invigilating visual art exhibitions, stewarding street spectacle events, welcoming audiences, ushering at theatre and dance performances and assisting at the First Thought Talks.
  • Ambassadors are those who provide information on the programme to the public around town, and green ambassadors are responsible for encouraging audiences to dispose of their waste appropriately.

More information on each role will be provided at the volunteers' induction sessions.

Friendly attitude

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Volunteers can decide the number of hours they wish to volunteer for and they can create their own schedule through a volunteer portal. The portal is also available through a free app.

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week

Additional screening required for this role:
Once you sign up here, you will be contacted by the GIAF Volunteer Department and you will be invited to complete the GIAF volunteer application form which opens in early May. Once the application form is processed and accepted, you will be contacted by the Volunteer Department.
