Requirements:- Over 18 - Intermediate Eglish - Weeknight availability
Volunteers will:
- Engage with young people, aged 10-18, in Foróige clubs through games, activities and programmes.
- Attend the Foróige club weekly and provide support and guidance to the young people.
- Enable young people to consciously and actively develop themselves and their community.
- Work as a team with other Foróige leaders and young people in the running of the club.
Who we are:
- The purpose of Foroige is to enable young people to involve themselves consciously & actively in their own development and in the development of society.
- We provide a comprehensive range of youth work, enabling communities to respond effectively to the needs of the young people in the area.
- We provide specialised services to vulnerable young people in a non-stigmatised way and support the existence of a multitude of voluntary youth organisations.
- We work in partnership with other organisations to best meet the needs of the community in which we operate.

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Volunteers need to complete an application form and garda vetting with Foróige and provide two references.
Volunteers must also undertake mandatory induction training and Child Protection training.
Skills required for this role:
Willingness to work with children and young people. To be open-minded, inclusive and accepting of others. Relatively good level of English to be able to communicate with young people.
A willingness to work alongside others to benefit the young people in your care.
You will develop your skills in the following areas through volunteering with us:
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Weeknight evening, once a week, 6 months committment minimum.
Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
Application form, references, garda vetting and international police clearance for those who have lived outside of Ireland for more than 36 months after their 18th birthday. Child protection and foroige induction training provided as well.
