We are excited to announce that we are starting a first aid course for the public on January 30th. First aid is a very important skill to have regardless of your background. This is also a great opportunity to see what our organisation is all about, talk to our members and consider joining us as a new volunteer — we would love to have you! We are specifically looking for people who will become Volunteers and stay with us a members long term, as such studying/living/working in Limerick is a must.
Volunteer roles include:
– Drivers
– First Aider
– Administration
– Fundraising
All of our Volunteers start their training with a First Aid Responder course. You can then progress with us, learning more and getting hands on experience at events that we provide first aid and ambulance cover for.

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
– Learn basic first aid (First Aid Responder level) as a minimum.
– Part-take in first aid care to patients under supervision and as part of a team.
– Become familiar with the ambulance layout and assist in cleaning and stocking.
– Attend events at evenings and weekends primarily as part of a crew of other, more experienced members.
– Part-take in fundraising activities as this is our primary income source as a non-government funded organisation.
Skills required for this role:
– Good communication skills.
– Competent first aid skills (training provided).
– Clean B licence (or higher) if interested in driver role.
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Thursday evenings 19:30 to 21:30 approx for trainings. Evening and weekend availability for volunteering.
Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
