Requirements:Seeking Volunteers - Someone who is caring, non judgemental, likes to have fun and getting to know others.
We are looking for volunteers to take part in a 10 week mentoring programme where you will be matched with a young person and will meet weekly as a group with other matches.
You will take part in activities with the young person you are matched with in a group setting.
No experience necessary. All you need is to be someone who is open to having some fun and helping a young person in need of support in the process.
All training will be provided.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
The 10 week program will involve a combination of different activities. These will be decided based on the volunteers and young people that will take part in the programme. It may be sports, cookery, games etc.
All activities will be facilitated by Foroige's mentoring program staff.
Skills required for this role:
No particular skills needed, just an interest in helping young people.
Details of time commitment needed for role:
The group will meet once a week in Tallaght, for 1 to 2 hours. The programme will run over 10 weeks.
The day is yet to be decided based on the volunteers availability.
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
All training will be provided by Foroige. There is an information session, interview, application form, garda vetting, children's first online training, child protection training and volunteer induction training.
