West Limerick Resources, a local development company based in Newcastle West are looking for a person to faciliatate weekly IT classes in our hubs in Newcastle West, Askeaton, and Abbeyfeale so it might suit a person (or two) from the West Limerick area or someone who has their own transport.

We are providing the laptops and other materials as needed. The classes would be very basic starting by turning on the computer. It would suit someone who is patient, can communicate in clear and simple language, and can meet the person where they are at.

Is training provided?: No

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Teaching basic IT skills, showing people how to use a computer or their phone,

Talk to people and make them feel comfortable 

Work closely with the SICAP (Social Inclusion & Community Activation Team) and report any challenges

The student will not be alone with the groups

Skills required for this role:

Basic IT skills, patience, clear communication, non-judgemental approach, open-minded, willingness to learn
