SDGs Focused Student Volunteer Ireland National Conference
28/02/2025

Empowering Sustainable Development
Students from across Ireland will attend the Student Volunteer Ireland Conference on Friday 14th March at Barretstown, Co Kildare.
The Conference is an intensive hands-on training event for students diving into:
Supporting the journey towards a Circular Economy, Volunteer Leadership Skills, Sustianability and Influencing Decision-Making
- SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production: Students have the opportunity to explore a circle-economy volunteering project at a university as a case study and then work together in small groups to execute their own mini circle-economy project to impact landfill at their campus location in partnership with their local community groups.
- SDG 3 - Good Health and Wellbeing: Barretstown hosts our conference and is a place for families to be connected to nature, experience fun and support on their wellness journeys. Students will engage with the Barretstown ethos, team volunteering opportunities and be empowered to connect student volunteers with the Barretstown volunteer programme. Our SDGs scavenger hunt for participants connects us to the landscape.

Special Guests:
- Caillum Hedderman, European Youth Forum Board member
- Emma Kavanagh, Network Development & Innovation Manager at RREUSE - Reuse and Recycling European Union Social Enterprises
- Saoirse Exton, UN Secretary-General’s Youth Advisory Group (YAG) on Climate Change
